This shingled home celebrates summer with a front porch stretching the length of the house. For the architecture, we wrapped the home in silver-toned cedar shingles that stretch across the curvaceous volumes. The 8,000-square-foot house employs a full array of shingle-style devices. Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Shingle Walls, woven straw wall coverings, and textured stained wood surfaces blur the lines between the exterior and interiors, making this home an indoor/outdoor experience. Furniture and textiles employ a variety of textures, with pops of color to further the summer experience. The space planning and furniture layout optimize frequent social gatherings and entertaining, suited for the client’s lifestyle.
