Set in the mountains of northern California, this home was conceived as a generously proportioned mountain lodge that will accommodate a growing family for many generations to come. Locally sourced stone for the fireplaces and timber framing of Hemlock and Doug Fir set the tone for a durable house that can withstand inclement weather on the outside, as well as the heavy use of a family during ski season on the inside. Both intimate and allowing for large family gatherings, this home draws on influences of the great Adirondack camps, Timberline Lodge in Mt. Hood Oregon, and early sketches by Frank Lloyd Wright of A-frame boathouses along Lake Tahoe’s shores.
