Working within the footprint of an original farm cottage along the Russian River in California’s Sonoma County, the goals for this new-construction project were to create a humble guest-house with a hand-crafted aesthetic. Wrap around porches centered on an indoor/outdoor fireplace capture views and connect to multiple interior spaces, allowing breezes and shading to moderate the summer heat and provide comfortable living all year round. Historically-dimensioned reclaimed materials and time-tested construction methods contribute to the authenticate feeling of this relaxing getaway.
